When you think about a Sierra Club Outings Leader you may picture a backpacker or hike leader leading a strenuous all day hike up in the mountains. But what if you enjoy getting outdoors with other folks but want to do less physically or time demanding activities? Well, we have a program for you!
Why not become a certified Sierra Club Outings Leader with a focus on urban outings with a conservation theme? These sort of outings might include an evening greenway hike (with or without a naturalist), a trip to a nature preserve for a program, a trip to a botanical garden, a movie night for an environmental film and social. All of these types of outings will connect individuals and families to our environment, teach others to understand and respect the fragile environment in which we live, and educate folks about important conservation issues.
If this appeals to you, join us on October 5th Outings Leader and First Aid Training in Chapel Hill! Carpooling available!
Be on your way to becoming an Outings Leader for the Sierra Club by attending all or part of this all day training event!
