Please join me in welcoming Zak Keith, who will be joining the Chapter organizing staff Thursday, June 14.
Zak, who lives in Wilmington, has worked with Ocean for the past 2 years, focused on on organizing coastal opposition to offshore drilling. Zak also partnered with the Chapter’s offshore wind team, giving a number of offshore wind presentations on the coast with Carina and Mac.
In his free time, he has volunteered with the Stop Titan effort to lead volunteer trainings on phonebanking, canvassing, and volunteer leadership development.
Zak is a graduate of Green Corps, the highly regarded and rigorous organizing training program, where we worked on Clemson University’s successful Beyond Coal campaign to phase out their campus power plant. Originally from Orlando, he studied political science and environmental studies at the University of Florida.
In his new role, Zak will be take over Carina’s responsibilities on the Stop Titan campaign as well as continuing our offshore wind work on the coast. Carina will now take the lead in building the offshore wind campaign in the piedmont and mountains.
Zak will continue to live and work out of Wilmington. I hope many of you will meet him at the August ExCom in Wilmington, where we will hold a special briefing for Chapter leaders on the Stop Titan fight.
